What is TCM?

TCM is one of the oldest healing systems on the planet. It has actually been in continuous practice for thousands of years. How can something so old still work for people living today—in your life?

TCM can be effectively applied to help heal anyone and any health issue no matter what year it is because it’s rooted in unchanging natural law, which has its source beyond time. This unique paradigm of medicine grew out of penetrating observation of how everything in our reality functions at the deepest, invisible levels and interacts with the surface or visible physical levels. It’s a medicine of extraordinary relationships. Every TCM principle, theory, and healing practice reflects and harmonizes with the relationships that exist within natural law. (TCM World, n.d.)

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the longest established forms of healthcare in the world. Acupuncturists are trained to use subtle diagnostic techniques that have been developed and refined for thousands of years. The focus is on you as an individual, not your illness, and all symptoms are seen in relation to each other. Treatment involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to affect the flow of your body’s qi, or vital energy.

Herbal Medicine

The origins of Chinese herbal medicine can be traced back at least 5,000 years. A qualified practitioner will prescribe a Chinese herbal formula specifically formulated for your own condition. The formula is also adjusted and modified during the recovery period until the desired health outcome is achieved. Chinese herbal medicines are prescribed either in pure form or combined in formulae.(Acupuncture.org.au, 2017)

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an age-old technique used in traditional Chinese medicine to stimulate acupuncture points or larger areas of the body. Cups are rounded and can be made of rubber, glass or very occasionally, bamboo. In cupping, the practitioner creates a vacuum inside the cup and quickly places it onto the skin where treatment is needed.
